13.1 About six months after the birth of John the Baptist, Caesar Augustus ordered that all the world should be registered. This meant that Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem. The journey must have been difficult. Mary was nine months pregnant at the time.

13.2 And it came to pass in those days that
a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, every one to his own city. Luke 2:1-3 |
