"Come See"
1. Now that you have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, you have a powerful witness to this lost and dying world. You know what Jesus has done for you. And you know what He can do for others.
2. Your testimony is very important. One sentence from you can change an entire nation. Remember the Samaritan woman? She said, "Come see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Is not this the Messiah?" (John 4:29) And with just those few words she brought a whole city to Christ. Your testimony is just as powerful as hers. Every Christian has a powerful testimony because you are talking about Jesus.
3. "Come see..." is an open invitation. Every thirsty person on earth wants to know what Jesus is doing. "Come see a man who... (fill in your own testimony here). Is not this the Messiah (the Anointed One of God)? Look what Jesus has done for me. Come see this man. Could He not do the same for you? Is He not the Messiah?
4. You have lots of testimony.
- What has God done?
- How did God change your heart... your life?
- How did God heal you?
- What has God done for your family?
- How did God answer your prayers?
- What did God do to help with your education? Your job?
- How is God using you?
- What does Christ mean to you?
- How did God change your relationships?
- What has God done for you today?
- and much more.
5. Paul said,
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is within you, with meekness and fear." I Peter 3:15
6. Being ready is the result of thanksgiving, and remembering what God has done. When I think about all that God has done for me, and my family, it is overwhelming. I am truly thankful and I am ready to say, "Come see what God has done for me, and my family." Only God could have done that. Come meet my Jesus.
7. "Be prepared" is another way of saying "be ready." It is a good idea to write out your testimony. Keep it short. Limit yourself to just one sheet of paper. That's about two minutes of speaking time. Make sure you include the Bible verses that changed your life. The Holy Spirit could use those to change someone else's life also.
8. The people of Sychar (about 3,000 of them) heard the testimony of the Samaritan woman, dropped what they were doing and went to see Jesus. Then they said, "Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world." John 4:42 When the Spirit of God ministers the Word of God to people - they will believe because they have heard Jesus for themselves. And when they see His miracles, and His signs and wonders, they will believe as the Spirit of God witnesses to them that this is the Messiah.
9. Let your light so shine before men that they
